DPP is the tool of choice for conversion of the raw data, plus some associated tasks (like de-vignetting, lens aberration correction, noise handling, cropping). Hi Richard, here's my 30 second answer… -) You would have thought that Canon would have been able to achieve this by now. The only thing that I find annoying is that it still, despite numerous pleas from zillions of users, hasn't got a straighten tool. Not too familiar with Elements 6 but certainly DPP will convert your RAW files and do a number of other jobs extremely well. Originally posted at 9:39PM, 12 December 2008 PDT I usually shoot RAW images, so it makes sense to me that Canon's own software may handle CR2 files better than PSE. On initial inspection I'm impressed with DPP's scope and was wondering how it compares to what I'm using now - Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac? Anyone in the group familiar with both of these? Found the CD in some old paperwork from my 20D, installed it and then upgraded to v. I have just discovered DPP (and this discussion group). I'm new to the group and apologize if this question has been addressed already - can't quite figure out the 'search' feature in the 30 seconds I allow for such things.
